Rithala-Kundli Corridor To Enhance Connectivity Between Delhi, Ghaziabad And Haryana; Connect 21 Station

The 26.5 km-long-stretch of the Rithala – Narela -Nathupur (Kundli) Corridor, part of the Delhi Metro Phase 4 project is expected to be completed in the next four years, as per an official statement. The project got a green signal on Friday from the Centre. After completion of the stretch, connectivity between Ghaziabad in Uttar Pradesh and Nathupur in Haryana via Delhi will significantly improve. According to the officials, it will connect Shaheed Sthal New Bus Adda station in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh with Nathupur in Haryana. The route between the two states will pass through Delhi, tremendously fostering connectivity in the entire National Capital Region (NCR). The proposed metro line will be an extension of the presently operational Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda) – Rithala (Red Line) corridor. With this, north western parts of Delhi – Narela, Bawana, parts of Rohini – will benefit greatly. There will be a total of 21 stations on the route. All of them will be elevated, the officials said. This corridor will be Delhi Metro’s fourth extension into Haryana. Presently, the Delhi Metro operates up to Gurugram, Ballabhgarh, and Bahadurgarh in Haryana. The completion cost of the project is Rs 6,230 crore and is to be implemented Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited (DMRC) the existing 50:50 Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV) of the Government of India (GoI) and Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (GNCTD) in four years.
