Bangabarta Bureau: After 15 months of blood sheed fighting in the Gaza Strip, Palestine, there is finnaally a ceasefire, inbetween izrail and Hamas terrorist group. According to a report by Al Jazeera, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani has confirmed the ceasefire agreement between Hamas and Israel has make a safe passege for both. At a press conference in Doha on Wednesday night, he said that the ceasefire agreement in Gaza will take effect from Sunday, January 19. On October 7, 2023, the Hamas militant group attacked southern Israel. About 1,200 people were killed in that attack, 251 were arrested and held captive. After that, Israel began its attack to release the detained citizens. Israel claims that Hamas still has 94 detainees, of whom 34 are estimated to have been killed. On the other hand, more than 46,000 residents have been killed in the Israeli attack on Gaza.
The deal will allow hundreds of thousands of displaced people in Gaza to return home. Meanwhile, Palestinians were seen celebrating on the streets of Khan Younis in southern Gaza after news of the ceasefire agreement spread. People in Deir al-Balah in central Gaza were jubilant. Regarding the ceasefire agreement, newly elected President Donald Trump said that an agreement has been reached to release the prisoners, and they will be released soon.
However, within this ceasefire agreement, two people were killed in an Israeli airstrike in the Khan Younis area in southern Gaza. On Wednesday, 82 Palestinians were killed in Israeli attacks in Gaza in one day.
