Farmers ‘Delhi Chalo’ march suspended after a few farmers suffer injuries due to tear gas shells

Farmers suspended ‘Delhi Chalo’ march on Sunday (December 8, 2024), after some of them suffer injuries owing to tear gas shells at Shambhu along the Punjab-Haryana border. Earliear in the day, a ‘jatha’ (group) of 101 farmers resumed its foot march to Delhi on Sunday afternoon (December 8, 2024) from the Shambhu protest site on the Punjab-Haryana border, but was soon halted by a multilayered barricading erected by the Haryana security personnel. Teargas shells were lobbed and water jets were shot through cannons to disperse the protesters after they reached the barricades.
