This time, Kashmir is going to be connected to Delhi by train. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate this train in January next year. This train will cover a distance of 800 km in just 13 hours. Preparations are almost complete. This train will pass over the world’s highest bridge, Chenab. The railway official in charge of this railway line said that this process will be completed on time. Once this rail service starts, it will be much easier to go to Kashmir. The work of the remaining 17 km is going on, there will be four stations in the T33 tunnel between Reasi and Katra. Work is currently going on in full swing in Jammu division. In addition, the final preparations are going on in Udhampur and Katra divisions. The work of the rail service was started in 1995 by the then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao. The estimated cost of this project is 2500 crore rupees. In 2002, this project was declared a national project by the then Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee. Then in 2014, a 25 km long train started between Udhampur and Katra. Then another Rs 3500 crore was allocated for this project. However, the Railway Department also plans to run the Vande Bharat train on this route. There is a possibility of a trial run on December 20. Currently, there is a small railway line in Kashmir, the train runs between Sangaldan-Banihal in Jammu division to Srinagar-Baramulla in the valley. If this train starts running, it will be possible to export products like apples, dry fruits, pashmina shawls, handicrafts to other parts of the country at a cheaper price.
