Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has been on the ground in Punjab since this morning, witnessing the devastation caused by the floods. He reported that the rising waters of the Beas River, particularly in Sultanpur Lodhi, have caused widespread destruction.
“I have been in Punjab since the morning and am seeing the devastation caused by the floods,” Chouhan said. “Farmers’ crops—be it sugarcane, paddy, or other crops—have been submerged and destroyed in the water.
