“Politics Needs Integrity, Discipline, and Sensitivity”—Mallikarjun Kharge

Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge emphasized the need to reconnect politics with the real struggles of ordinary citizens, urging the promotion of honesty, discipline, and sensitivity in public life. He highlighted the vital role of data and technology in exposing issues like voter suppression and advancing social justice.

“Thanks to the use of data and technology, we were able to bring the serious issue of voter theft to light. It has now become a national issue, and Rahul Gandhi is leading a Yatra in Bihar to raise awareness about it,” Kharge said while addressing a gathering of professionals and party workers.

He noted that Rahul Gandhi had engaged data experts to investigate and expose irregularities in voter rolls, which later drew the attention of the Supreme Court. “Had we remained silent, no one would have raised this issue. But because we acted, people across the country are now speaking out against voter fraud,” he said.

Kharge also stressed the importance of data-driven approaches in the fight for social justice, particularly with regard to the caste census. “For issues like the caste census, we must involve professionals who can collect and analyze data. This is essential for ensuring equitable policies,” he stated.

Addressing a diverse audience, Kharge said, “You all come from different backgrounds, but what unites you is your belief in the ideology of the Congress — a progressive and secular India.”

He concluded by underlining the foundational values of political life: “The most important thing in politics is commitment to ideology, loyalty, and belief. Skills and talent serve to strengthen that foundation.”
