Ganga Aarti and Pranab Sanskriti Fair in Kalnagini River

On the occasion of Paush Sankranti, Ganga Aarti was organized in Kalnagini River, a branch of Pabni Ganga that falls at Banshatala Kheyaghat in Kakdwip block of South 24 Parganas district. This innovative Ganga Aarti was conducted by Manmathpur Pranab Mandir, a rural service center of Bharat Sevashram Sangh, at the main communication center of Rabindra Gram Panchayat, Rishi Bankim Gram Panchayat and Bapuji Gram Panchayat. The four-day Sri Sri Pranab Sanskriti Fair will continue till January 17. On the first day of Ganga Aarti, mothers light 1001 lamps and pray for the well-being of the world. On the second day, Yugacharya Shrimat Swami Pranabanandaji Maharaj, in order to remove evil from the society by celebrating the 130th auspicious advent year, invoked Mother Ganga with 130 incense burners before the aarti. On the third day, Mother Ganga was performed with 130 torches to remove evil energy from the society. On the last day, Pancha Vedic Shanti Yajna was performed in the name of Pancha Devatara for universal peace. In this unique Ganga Aarti, priests from Varanasi, Dakshineswar, Mahamilan Math, Belur Math and Omkar Nath Math participated in the aarti. On the other hand, various cultural evenings and entertainment programs were held at the fair. On this occasion, Swami Parasharanandaji Maharaj and Swami Anveshanandaji Maharaj, former minister and MLA of Kakdwip Vidhan Sabha, Shri Monturam Pakhira, MLA of Sandeshkhali, Shri Sukumar Mahato, President of Kakdwip Panchayat Samiti, Shri Madan Mohan Haldar and many other distinguished guests were present as special guests on behalf of the Sangh. The newly built permanent Aarti altar on the banks of the Kalnagini river was decorated for this Ganga Aarti. A crowd of people gathered on both banks of the river to watch the Ganga Aarti. Apart from the Manmathpur Pranab Mandir, which was built on the model of Bharat Sevashram Sangh Shakti, the Banshatala Bazar Committee, Vishalakshmi Mayer Mandir Committee and Manmathpur B.B.A. Sangh performed the Aarti and fair as associate shakthi.
