Kuantan, Malaysia – A Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF) F/A-18D Hornet fighter jet crashed and caught fire during takeoff from Kuantan Air Base today, according to an official statement from the RMAF.
The incident occurred during a routine training exercise. The RMAF confirmed that both crew members on board successfully ejected from the aircraft before the crash. The pilots were quickly rescued and are reported to be in a stable condition with no life-threatening injuries. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire and the subsequent crash. The RMAF has also temporarily suspended all flight operations at the Kuantan Air Base.
