METRO COMMERCIAL SERVICES IN THREE SECTIONS BEGIN

commercial Metro services on newly inaugurated stretches, whose combined length is 13.61 Kms 6.77 Km of Yellow Line, 4.39 Km of Orange Line and 2.45 Km of Green Line have started. Much to the delight of Metro has started to chug on these stretches.

On Yellow Line, the first commercial rake, MR-307 left Noapara at 07:59 hrs and reached Jai Hind Bimanbandar at 08:11 hrs. There was great enthusiasm and excitement observed among the passengers as they reached the station early in the morning to witness history in the making

Commercial services on Beleghata to Kavi Subhash stretch of Orange Line has also started today. On this stretch, the first commercial rake, MR 415 left Beleghata at 08:00 hrs and reached Kavi Subhash at 08:23 hrs. There was great enthusiasm and excitements observed among the passengers here too.

Howrah and Sealdah are two important stations of Indian Railways network. These two stations have been connected through the Metro network under the river Hooghly as the 2.45-km stretch of Green Line Since morning, a huge rush has been observed in this line as commuters can now go to Salt Lake from Howrah in the Metro without bothering about the traffic snarls.Congratulating all Metro men for creating history, Shri P Uday Kumar Reddy, General Manager, Metro Railway has expressed his hope that these three Corridors will be immensely beneficial for the commuters specially coming from the suburbs and ease traffic movements in and around Kolkata
