India is exploring new markets for its goods in the wake of the proposed ‘Trump tariffs,’ according to Rajya Sabha MP and former Foreign Secretary Harsh V. Shringla.
Shringla, who also served as India’s former ambassador to the U.S., stated that India is considering redirecting its exports away from the American market. “India is considering diverting its exports from the U.S. to other markets,” he said.
The statement comes amid rising trade tensions and the possibility of new tariffs imposed by the U.S. under a potential new administration. Shringla’s comments suggest that India is proactively seeking to mitigate the potential impact of protectionist trade policies and secure its economic interests.
