India’s Ambassador to the United Nations, Parvathaneni Harish, stated that India is seeking a resolution to the Ukraine war through dialogue and diplomacy. He emphasized that diplomatic initiatives, such as the recent Alaska Summit, hold promise for ending the conflict and paving the way for lasting peace.
“We want a solution to the Ukraine war through dialogue and diplomacy,” Harish said. “We believe that diplomatic initiatives like the Alaska Summit give us confidence in ending the Ukraine conflict and opening up possibilities for lasting peace.”
The ambassador confirmed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi remains in contact with both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. Harish also expressed concern about the broader consequences of the war, including the increase in oil prices.
India has consistently maintained a neutral stance on the conflict, advocating for a peaceful resolution while refraining from openly condemning Russia. Harish’s statement reiterates India’s position and highlights its role as a potential mediator.
