Highlights Women’s Empowerment the new initiatives taken by Assam CM

Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma today addressed the media in Jagiroad, announcing a series of new initiatives and highlighting the state government’s commitment to women’s empowerment and inclusive growth.

The Chief Minister announced a dedicated working women’s hostel to support those employed in the semiconductor testing sector, a move aimed at providing a conducive and safe environment for female professionals.

Dr. Sarma also underscored the importance of the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA), calling its seed fund a “true game-changer” for empowering women. He stated that the MMUA, along with the state’s flagship schemes like Orunodoi and Nijut Moina, will further accelerate inclusive growth across Assam. The statement was made at an event distributing financial assistance to a large number of women entrepreneurs under the MMUA scheme.
