West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, in a recent statement, claimed that while President Donald Trump may have “chased away” Gujaratis, prestigious institutions like Harvard, Oxford, Columbia, and San Francisco cannot function without the presence of Bengalis.
Banerjee’s comments came during a public address where she emphasized the intellectual prowess of her state. “Trump may have chased away Gujaratis, but places like Harvard, Oxford, Columbia, and San Francisco cannot run without Bengalis,” she said.
Her remarks appear to be a response to Trump’s recent statements about trade and immigration and highlight a sense of pride in the contributions of the Bengali diaspora on the global stage
