Floodwaters Submerge Homes and Vehicles in Himachal’s Kangra

HIMACHAL PRADESH, Bangobarta Bureau

Severe flooding has wreaked havoc in the Indora region of Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district, where floodwaters have inundated homes and left vehicles floating in the streets. The situation has highlighted the devastating impact of the ongoing heavy rainfall in the state.

A video from the area shows a shocking scene of water-logged residential areas. Cars, scooters, and other vehicles can be seen bobbing and drifting in the powerful currents that have turned roads into fast-moving rivers. Many houses in the area are partially submerged, with water reaching up to the second story in some locations.

Local authorities have initiated rescue and relief operations, but the continuous rainfall is hampering efforts. The residents of Indora and surrounding villages are facing significant losses, with property damage and displacement becoming a serious concern.

The incident is a stark reminder of the extreme weather events plaguing Himachal Pradesh this monsoon season, with numerous reports of landslides, flash floods, and damage to infrastructure across the state.
