Defence Minister Rajnath Singh today underscored the vital role of citizens in national security, citing their complete support during a military exercise named ‘Operation Sindoor’ in border areas.
Speaking at a public event, Singh stated that during the operation, the armed forces received “complete support from the people in the border regions.” He emphasized that this collaboration demonstrates a crucial lesson: that the nation’s security is not solely the responsibility of the government or the armed forces but of every single citizen.
“This teaches us that the security of the country is not just the responsibility of the government or the army, but of every citizen,” Singh said. He added that for India to become stronger and overcome all challenges, its youth and citizens must remain “aware and dedicated.”
The Defence Minister’s remarks stress the importance of a whole-of-nation approach to security, where the military and the civilian population work in tandem to protect the country’s interests and sovereignty.
